Production of Beer and Fermented Beverages in the Russian Federation: Results for January-August 2026
Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Market Regulation (RATK) has published data on the production of beer and fermented beverages in Russia for January-August 2026. At the end of the eight months, the production of fermented beverages amounted to 593,400.7 thousand dal — which is 6.3% less than in the same period of 2025 (633,180.7 thousand dal). Beer production decreased by 6.2%, to 507,609.4 thousand dal against 540,972.7 thousand dal a year earlier.
Looking at the monthly dynamics, the decline worsened in August: beer production decreased by 36.8% year-on-year (43,872.1 thousand dal against 69,352.5 thousand dal in 2025), and fermented beverages by 37.0% (51,272.1 thousand dal against 81,286.6 thousand dal). For comparison, in the previous seven months of 2026, fluctuations relative to the same months of 2025 were noticeably smaller — within ±2–8%.

Important note on August: the sharp collapse (−37%) strongly deviates from the dynamics of the previous seven months (fluctuations within ±2–8%) and equally affected almost all categories of alcoholic products — for example, cumulatively, “Alcoholic products — total” also sank from −2.4% to −7.2%. This looks more like the effect of incomplete data: the report was recorded on 04.09.2026, which is literally a few days after the close of August, and some of the manufacturers’ declarations for August might not have entered EGAIS at the time the summary was generated. With the release of a later report (with more complete data for August), this figure is likely to be revised upwards — it should be treated as preliminary.
