Russia raises minimum retail price for vodka

As of July 1, minimum retail prices (MRP) for vodka, brandy, cognac and other alcoholic beverages have increased. Thus, the minimum price for a 0.5 liter bottle of vodka is now 299 rubles instead of 281 rubles. The cost of cognac has increased to 556 rubles (was 517 rubles), and brandy – to 403 rubles (was 375 rubles). Prices vary depending on the market segments served. Since July, not only the minimum retail, but also the minimum selling and wholesale prices for these alcoholic beverages have changed. At selling prices, the manufacturer’s products are sold online to consumers, at wholesale prices – in batches to points of sale, and at retail – to the end consumer. The minimum selling price for vodka has increased from 229 rubles to 246 rubles, and the wholesale price – from 238 to 256 rubles for 0.5 liters. The selling price of brandy increased from 289 to 311 rubles per 0.5 liters, and the wholesale price from 304 to 327 rubles. The selling price of cognac increased from 397 to 427 rubles per 0.5 liters, and the wholesale price from 419 to 450 rubles. In addition, a minimum retail price of rum was introduced — 403 rubles per 0.5 liters.
