The total area of ​​hop fields in Russia will increase by 3.1 times by 2028, exceeding 955 hectares

Last year, the area of ​​hop fields in the country was 311.8 hectares. Regional estimates show that another 644 hectares will be added over the next five years, and by 2028 the total area will exceed 955 hectares, which will create the basis for further development of the brewing industry.

The Ministry of Agriculture actively supports hop growing projects in the country. In particular, subsidies are provided for the establishment and maintenance of perennial plantings, including hop fields. In 2024, it is planned to allocate 5.8 billion rubles from the federal budget to support perennial plantings. In addition, short-term loans for the purchase of hops and investment loans for the processing, storage and transportation of hop products are available under preferential lending.
